About

Earlier this year, we decided to create Donate A Pixel. It was based on the original idea of the Million Dollar Homepage by Alex Tew, but we wanted our site to be a little bit different from the many other sites that were springing up all around us.  We didn’t want to just create a site to make loads of money, we wanted our site to have a purpose.

To this end, we chose a Charitable twist to our business objective and Donate A Pixel was born.

Our objective is simple - to raise as much money for charities as possible, through the site, by donating a whopping 70% of the advertising fees that we charge to charity. That means, just £100.00 per year buys a guaranteed link for three years to the advertiser’s web site and a £70.00 donation is made to the advertisers’ chosen charit, for each £100.00 spent..

On top of that £70.00, there is also Gift Aid tax benefits which increase the donation even further and we take care of that too.

Visitors to the web site are able to see clearly who supporters are and more importantly for our advertisers, their advert requires no graphics, making it fully accessible to screen readers and search engine spiders alike.

Pledge Now, Pay Later:
As an incentive to supporters of the site and more importantly, supporters of charities, we’ve introduced our pledge now, pay later scheme.

Until we reach 50 advertisers, we will not ask anyone for money and those who join now will benefit from a free link until we hit that mark.  There’s never been a better time to think about donating to charity and with Doante A Pixel you know that you’ll get something more than just a warm feeling for doing so.

Charity’s Own Page:
If you run a charity and would like to have a page of your own, where all advertisers on that page are donating just to you, please contact us to discuss how we can help.  This would enable you to promote your own page where supporters can buy pixels that donate money to you, and only you.
